Genetic Testing
Genomind is a non-invasive test that looks at the genes that may affect your body’s ability to benefit from psychiatric medications and other treatments.
What is Genomind?
“Personalized medicine” is a somewhat new medical model that uses patient-specific information, such as your own genetic makeup (or genotype) in order to enable an individualized approach to treatment.
Genomind gives information regarding your body’s ability to metabolize medications and the likelihood of poor toleration or lowered chance of response.
Genomind also can detect a defect in folate metabolism that, when present, makes treatment of psychiatric disorders more difficult.
The test is non-invasive and is conducted by swabbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab. Test results are reported back to our office in 3-5 days after your sample is received at the laboratory.
