Abilify Long-Acting Injectables
Abilify Maintena and Asimtufii are maintenance treatments for patients with bipolar 1 disorder.
What are Abilify long-acting injectables?
Abilify Maintena and Abilify Asimtufii are medications used for the treatment of bipolar 1 disorder and schizophrenia. Patients often choose these long-acting injectables to decrease the odds of a relapse of their illness.
These long-acting forms of aripiprazole eliminate the need for the daily oral medication in appropriate patients. Patients have been shown to remain mood episode-free for significantly longer than those on a placebo.
Maintena is administered once monthly, and Asimtufii is administered once-every-two-months.
Before starting Abilify Maintena or Abilify Asimtufii, it’s important that you’ve already taken aripiprazole by mouth without any serious side effects.
